A Laundry Aide at a subacute hospital plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the facility by managing the laundry operations. This includes sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing personal linens, clothing, and other launderable items for residents. This position is Saturday & Sunday during the NOC (10pm-5am) shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas.

2. Mop the nurse’s station and clean the Business Office (empty trash, mop bathrooms, check soap and paper towel.)

3. Handle laundry in aseptic manner, using rubberized apron to protect uniform when handling soiled linen

4. Hands are washed after handling soiled linen.

5. Washes, dries, folds all linen, towels, and gowns.

6. Cooperates with other employees to promote efficiency and morale of the facility.

7. Attends required meetings as needed.

8. Follows all regulations related to OSHA/Title 22.

9. Train skilled personnel to work in the Laundry Department.

10. Coordinate functions of the Laundry department with all other departments.

11. Know and implement the proper preventive maintenance procedures for the laundry equipment.

12. Follows policy and procedures around laundry/housekeeping duties.

13. Performs monthly audit of linens.
